Call for Abstracts

The 41st World Veterinary Association Congress (WVAC 2026) is being convened under the theme of “One Health for a Better Tomorrow: Veterinary Medicine Holds the Key”.

WVA and the Japan Veterinary Medical Association (JVMA) are pleased to invite you to submit abstracts to be considered for selection for the final program at the 41st World Veterinary Association Congress!

  • Submissions must be made via the online portal, and you have the option to submit an abstract either for oral or poster presentation.
  • English being the conference language, the abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Only 1 abstract per main author may be submitted. Please enter the abstract in text form onto the portal and submit the abstract file according to the template in PDF format.
  • The use of the prespecified template is mandatory to upload your abstract.
    The template is available from here.
  • Photo of the presenting author: On the online submission portal, you will be asked to upload a photo of the presenting author. The photo will be published with the abstract information on the final program of the congress once accepted.
  • Both types of presentation will have equal status. Depending on the number of abstracts received, the program committee may have to select some presentations to be done in the poster session.
  • Authors will be informed about the acceptance of their abstracts in late February 2026.
  • By submitting your abstract, you agree to be available to present on any day during the 41st World Veterinary Association Congress (21-24 April, 2026). Please note that the program committee does not accept individual requests regarding the presentation date.
  • The registration to the congress for presenting authors is binding. Authors whose abstract was accepted and will be ready to present onsite must register and pay the registration fee by no later than 13 March, 2026 (JST) to secure the abstract information in the official program.

FAQ

May I submit an abstract even if I do not hold a veterinary license?
Yes. Individuals who do not possess a veterinary license are also eligible to submit abstracts.
How long is the presentation time for general presentations?
Each presentation is allotted 10 minutes (7 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A).
